Mechanical and Horological Excellence

I was able to see some marvelous watches today. I had an appointment to see the Richard Lange Perpetual Calendar today, I have been crushing on the Terra Luna for quite some time. I love that is has twin barrels and a remontoire as part of the overall esc

An early Easter incoming (NWA) of a truly special Tourbillon Pour Le Merite 😍

First, hope everyone is having an amazing Easter holiday weekend !! I am delighted to welcome in THE PROGENITOR to my humble collection ✨️ 🥰 Quick back story 😁 This was not even on my radar, to be honest, but circumstances were serendipitous 😉. Having los

I totally forgot about that until you mentioned it.

Also, just in case you don't know about the (free, numbered) copy of Peter Chong's wonderful Tourbillon PLM book that Lange will send you once they verify your serial number (unless a prior owner of your watch already got the book and kept it), the info i

It’s pretty hard to scratch

I don’t pay particular attention (sometimes use my shirt, etc.) and have never had an issue scratching the coating. And just about all the preowned Langes I’ve seen have been fine, too. Interestingly, the worst crystal I’ve seen in a long time was on the

Updated pics...

Just got the watch back with the new AR-coated crystals installed. The difference is most definitely apparent in person, when the lighting conditions vary. The crystals are invisible in many lighting conditions. I'm very happy with the result. [On a relat

Not sure if this matters to you...

You mentioned that it "comes with the box (the long one)." Can you post a picture of that inner leather long box in an open position? Also, can you provide the first 3 digits of the caseback serial number? Lange changed its box style in the early 2000s, b

Many of Lange's watch cases were (are?) made by AP subsidiary Centror...

... those cases are marked with "CO": Also, the movement in the original Tourbillon Pour le Merite that Lange introduced back in 1994 was basically designed by Renaud & Papi.

Yes, that's true in most cases but not all. The difficulty is threefold...

First, Lange used to accommodate many special requests (such as the hand color change in Luc's watch). That makes it difficult to determine whether a watch actually left the factory in its current condition, or whether Lange changed a dial, hands, etc., l
